Barbara Ellen (Stubbs) Owen left this life to be with Jesus on Monday, December 26 after a brief struggle with Leukemia.

Barbara was born January 29, 1933 in Grand River, IA to Cora (Bryant) Stubbs and Arthur Stubbs.  She met Ivan Owen after his return home to Leon, IA at the close of WW II and they were married on February 26, 1950 in Osceola, IA.  They then settled in Indianola, IA where they remained and raised their children.

Barbara was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Indianola.  She loved her church family and always looked forward to worshipping with them there.

She is survived by two children, Brenda (Gordon) Townsend of Indianola and Donald (Vickie) Owen of Caribou, ME; two brothers, Bill (Doris) Stubbs and Terry (Sherry) Stubbs; three sisters, Mary Beeman, Verda Foland, and Kathy Adams; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan,  son Gary, parents, four brothers and two sisters.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be hosted at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola on Friday, December 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. where family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be hosted by First Assembly of God in Indianola on Saturday, December 31 at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Indianola.
