Born in Madison County, Iowa, Barbara was a resident at Shirlee's Retirement Home in Indianola. She had previously resided in St. Charles for 27 years and lived in Indianola for 32 years. She had attended Winifred Law Opportunity Center and enjoyed her many friendships and activities. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Her pleasant smile and warm demeanor will be missed by all.

Surviving are her mother, Lura Beaman of Indianola; a sister Dolores V. Sinn of Martensdale, Iowa, and a brother Dale E. and his wife Kathy Beaman of St. Charles, Iowa. She is also survived by four nieces, four nephews, four great nieces, nine great nephews, and four great-great nieces.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father Leonard Beaman and her brother-in-law, Merlyn Sinn.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home; the family will be present 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianola Public Library or the Friends of the Library at St. Charles, Iowa.
