Services for Arlene Mae Miner, 87, of Indianola, will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Hammondsburg Cemetery, Ackworth.

Arlene was born August 24, 1936 in Ackworth, Iowa to Esther and Archie Byers. Arlene attended North Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Indianola High School.

Arlene married the love of her life, Charles, on March 8, 1956 after two months of courtship.

Arlene loved her family and enjoyed seeing them and hearing what they were up to.

Arlene was a very talented seamstress, artist, baker and loved fashion. However, her true passion was saving every stray cat that came her way. Arlene's idea of heaven on earth was spending time at her family farm. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and spending time in her flower garden. Arlene's favorite job was working with the staff and children at Little Miracles Daycare.

Jesus was very important to Arlene and she kept him close to her heart and thoughts always.

Arlene is survived by her daughters and their families, Marlene (Kerry) Lester and grandson, Keith (Michelle) Lester, great-grandchildren, Charlene Lester and Mary Hanson; and Marie (Kelly) Burzette and grandson, Matthew (Morgan) Ginder, great-grandchild, Charlie Ginder, grandson, Brennan (Jessica) Ginder, grandson, Ben (Mallory) Burzette, great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Jasper Burzette. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles; parents, Esther and Archie; aunt, Dolly Clary.

Memorials in her memory may be given to Kiya Koda Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
