Obituary

Ardith Ann "Ardie" Davis, 85, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Ardie will be greatly missed and remembered for her contagious laugh, her stubborn personality, her belief in Scripture, and the love she had for those close to her.

Ardie was born May 5, 1939, in Hamburg, Iowa, to Rex Canon and Helen (Gillette) Canon. Her family lived in Hamburg during the early years of her life. She attended Hamburg High School until 1956 then graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, class of 1957.

She married Edward "Ed" Davis on January 18, 1958, in Colorado Springs, where Ed was stationed in the United States Army. Shortly after his discharge, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Ed passed away July 27, 2006 in Sioux City.

Ardie worked for the City of Sioux City as an administrative secretary for over 30 years.  Upon retiring in 1994, she kept busy with part-time jobs.  Her numerous hobbies included sewing, antiquing, fishing, boating, button collecting, cleaning, horseback riding, attending rendezvous, and she never missed a moment to be with her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Ardie and Ed purchased property in Running Water, South Dakota along the Missouri River, which they enjoyed every chance they had.  Ardie moved to Running Water shortly after the passing of Ed, then later in life she moved to Indianola, Iowa to be closer to family.  Upon moving to Indianola, she met Lee Perdigon. They were married in January 2024.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Perdigon; two sons, Timothy H. Davis of Hillsboro, Ohio and Kenneth Davis of Hagerstown, Maryland; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandra Holland of Centennial, Colorado; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Davis and her parents.
