Services for Anton "Tony" Richard Navratil, 90, of Indianola, Iowa, who passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at The Village in Indianola, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Tony was born on July 16, 1933, in Berwyn, Illinois, to Anton and Ludmila (Stanik) Navratil. He graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School in Cicero, Illinois. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy, then worked for Northwestern Bell for 35 years.

Tony was married to Clara (Veasman) Navratil for 57 years, and they had 2 children. They built a home south of Indianola, where they lived for 17 years. They also lived in Omaha, Nebraska, Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, before later returning to Indianola. Tony lived at The Village for the past 5 years.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Janice Navratil of Omaha, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; son, James Navratil; parents, Anton and Ludmila Navratil; sister, Lillian Camp; and brothers, Milo and Frank Navratil.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Overton Funeral Home. Memorials, in Tony's name, may be given to the Indianola Fire Department or Indianola Public Library.
