IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrew "Andy"
Mccombs
May 8, 1982 – June 6, 2023
Andrew (Andy) Joseph McCombs was born on May 8th, 1982, into a family who loved him. As a self proclaimed "Mama's Boy", he was the protector of his mother, Darvanna, and his little sisters.
Coming from a family of steel workers and the automotive industry, Andy appreciated his family values and had a strong love for cars. He spent a lot of time customizing his ride, and enjoyed showing off his modifications to his grandparents. He also enjoyed turning his stereo up loud enough to get noise complaints, and cruising around town.
Andy would not want this to be sappy, because the last twenty-two years does not define who he was. He left an undeniable influence in many people's lives. His personality was strong and his love for raunchy jokes and pranks lives on. Above all else, the passion he had for his friends and family is one of the biggest gifts he ever gave his loved ones.
His mother spent every waking moment of her life advocating and loving her children. The devotion she has for her children, the love and hope she gives, and the strength she has, all formed the moment she saw her babies. She has been Andy's advocate, his caregiver, his voice when he did not have one, but most importantly, his mom.
The greatest tribute to give to Andy is to keep on living. Enjoy your life, protect your loved ones, and always have a good time. He has impacted everyone who has had the pleasure to know him. His family would like to give a special shout out to Westview of Indianola Care Center. Each and every department, from Nursing, Nutrition, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and every other staff member and resident, we cannot thank you enough. You made the hard days a little less hard, and the good days a little bit better. And to Victor, thank you for being a caring friend to Andy and a great partner in crime over the years.
Andy's family would like to encourage everyone to think before they drink and drive. You are not only putting yourself at risk, but also someone's friend, their brother, and son.
A special remembrance event will be held for Andy at a later date. His family appreciates all the love and support flowing to them, and would like to take some time to heal together.
Thank you for the journey, Andy. We love you to the moon and back. See you on the other side.
