Services for Amber Birmingham, 26, who went home to be with Jesus on December 8, 2010 at her parents' home after a three year battle with Osteosarcoma, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Amber was born in Des Moines, IA on October 24, 1984. She graduated from Indianola High School in 2003. Prior to the deeper stages of the illness, she had been working at Wells Fargo for many years. She had many, many friends that all enjoyed her quick, but honest sense of humor and her ever forgiving spirit. She is survived by her parents, Terry and Joelyn of Indianola, grandparents Max and Janet Miller, Ben and Eden Thornely and Ron and Bonnie Birmingham, her beloved cat Ricardo and her boyfriend George. Many aunts, uncles and cousins, whom she loved dearly, remain to cherish her legacy. Along with them, her family at the Legion Post 232 from Polk City. Amber would want us to continue to fight for a cure for this childhood disease which had become her family's mission over the last few years. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 10 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 5:30 to 8 p.m. to greet friends.
