Obituary

Services for Alva "Cliff" Duncan, 85, who died Saturday, September 1, 2007 will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5 at Overton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, IA.
Cliff was born January 9, 1922 near Lineville, IA and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He had lived in Indianola since 1961, retiring from the Celotex Corp as a sale representative and part-time farmer. He enjoyed working on his farm with his equipment including his bull dozer. He also enjoyed dancing and when he was younger, hunting.

Surviving are two sons Barry Duncan of Des Moines and Jim (Karen) Duncan of Milo; his companion Darlene Davison of Indianola; 3 grandchildren Deanna Hommer, Kristi Dierking and Wes Duncan; 7 great grandchildren; and a sister Hazel Applegate of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Claudia Duncan in 1998 and brother Lyle Duncan.

Visitation will be held 3 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the Clifford Duncan Memorial Fund.
