ALTA E. McKNIGHT Indianola Alta E. (Brown) McKnight was born June 27, 1921 in Polk County, IA and passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 18 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 17 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Alta was united in marriage to Roy McKnight on April 15, 1940. She enjoyed camping and fishing, antiquing, baking, crafting and spending time with family. She was a member of Temple of God Church in Indianola. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Bessie Brown; husband, Roy McKnight; sister, Lorena Stacy; and daughter, Donna Lou McKnight. Survivors include her sons, Ron (Carol) McKnight of Indianola, Bob (Sharron) McKnight of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Jim (Kelly) McKnight of Winterset, Rod (Lisa) McKnight of Logan, Rhonda Harban of Indianola and Michelle (Eric) Kellar of Pella; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
