ALBERTA FRIDLEY Indianola Services for Alberta Fridley, 92, who passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home, will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 8 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Sarah Alberta Fridley, daughter of Arthur and Edna Reynolds Isley, was born near Pleasantville, Iowa on May 5, 1922. Alberta graduated from Hartford High School and attended Simpson College for a short summer course. She was married to G. Gilbert Fridley in 1960 and they resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was employed by Friedl Construction Company and City Realty in Cedar Rapids for several years as an office manager. In 1976, she and Gilbert returned to Warren County and built a new home in the Liberty Center area. Alberta was then employed by Montgomery Ward as an installation clerk. The store closed in 1999 and Alberta decided to take retirement. This only lasted until January of 2002 when she became employed by Dollar General, retiring in June of 2006. Alberta is survived by her son, Ronald (Sandra) Fridley; grandchildren, Wade, Jenna, Whitney and Seth Fridley; step-son, Tom (Ann) Fridley; two stepdaughters, Rose Thomas and Esta (Clint) Fraley; sister, Betty Nelson; brother, Harold Isley; step-granddaughter, Devona (Fred) Perkins; great-grandchildren, Emily, Echo and Matthew Mitchell and Tayton, Maely and Milly Fridley; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Gilbert Fridley; parents; brothers, Russell, Howard, Dwight, Clifford Isley; and infant nephew.
