Services for Alan Paul Weaver, 70, of Indianola, Iowa, who passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at home, will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Memorials, in memory of Alan, may be given to the family.

Alan Paul Weaver was born on April 6, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to John Willam and Eula Fay (Goodwin) Weaver.  Alan graduated from Norwalk High School in 1971.  He worked for Ben Perkins as a young man for several years as a farmhand.  Following graduation, he worked for Ahern-Pershing Office Supply driving truck delivering office furniture.  Alan was married to Mary Jo Spencer on April 12, 1975.  To this union their daughter Terah was born.  He then worked for Brandenburg Trucking driving a dump truck.  Alan started his career in the boiler business working for Capital City Boiler.  He started the Industrial Division at Wolin & Associates where he retired from in 2017.  On September 9, 2000 he was united in marriage to Michelle Konrad.

He was a member of Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local #33 for over 25 years.  Alan enjoyed working on Street Rods, his motorcycle, and working with his hands.  He also enjoyed playing the guitar and had a deep passion for music.  Bird watching and nature was a lifelong hobby including discussing politics.  He had a deep faith and it was an important part of his life.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and attending the activities of his grandchildren.

Alan is survived by his wife, Shelly; children, Terah (Scott) Henson, Derrick Delzell and Evan Paul Weaver; grandchildren, Asher and Ellie Henson and Lincoln Delzell; and siblings, Carol Ann (Jr) Flemming and Jim (Elsie) Weaver.  He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert Weaver, Glenda Tuttle, Dixie Spencer, Phil Weaver and Ronda Phipps; and his nephews, Norman Spencer and Les Wiles.
