Alan Dale "Duffy" Viers, 67, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at The Salem Connection, 222 West Salem Ave., Indianola, Iowa.

Duffy is survived by his children, Jacob Viers, Lucas (Chrissy) Viers, Kelsey Viers, and Johnny Walker; fiancé, Susan Hunt, and her children, Shane (Macie Jones) Johnson, Brandon Johnson, and Jacklynn Johnson; grandchildren, Aubrey Runyan, Lucas Viers, Lyddi Viers, Lyla-Mae Peterson, Paizlie, Warrant, Scarlet Johnson, Olivia Walker, Chance Walker and Grayson Johnson; brothers, Jerry Viers and Bill Viers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Cleo Viers; sister, Karen Viers; and brother, Larry Viers.

Duffy enjoyed eating good food, watching NFL—his favorite team was the KC Chiefs—and spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandkids. He loved making people laugh with his clever comments he would make when the opportunity arose. He retired 10 years ago from Laborers Union Local 177, after many years of concrete work and demolition. He loved rock 'n' roll, especially The Rolling Stones. Duffy was deeply loved by many and will be missed so much.
