Al Aldridge, 93, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at The Village in Indianola.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Overton Funeral Home with family present from 5 to 8 p.m.  Al's burial will be at a later date.

Albert Lee Aldridge was born on January 12, 1926 in New Virginia, IA.  He is the son of Blueford and Lela (Kennedy) Aldridge.  On March 28, 1948 he was married to Leona Reed.  He is survived by three sons, Larry (Sherri), Steve (Malia), and Jim (Marsha), seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, a brother, Randall, and a sister, Dolores Grant.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona, his parents, brothers Junior, Leland, Cleo, Merrill Dean, twin boys (no names) and sisters Laveta Beitel and Leota Ripperger.

Al did many things during his long life:  joined the Marine Corp, operated gas stations, hauled fuel oil, called square dances, bought and sold antiques, and joked and gambled with his friends.  Probably his favorite activities though were being an auctioneer, making his homemade ice cream, and spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Warren County Historical Society.
