ADELINE BREWER

Services for Adeline Brewer, 94, who passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, will be held 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 11 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to service. A private burial will take place in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Adeline was born in Des Moines and graduated from Lincoln High in 1941. She lived for her family, friends, church and sports. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, especially watching them play sports. Adeline tried never to miss a game for those that lived close. She also loved her red hat society, traveling, baking, cooking and watching all sports, both college and professional. She loved her town and was an avid supporter of Indianola high school, Simpson and ISU. She was even awarded IHS volunteer/fan of the year in 2001, one of her proudest moments. Everybody knew Granny B. She especially loved traveling around the country with her senior group or Dixie. She even went as far as New York City, when Dixie took her to see the Statue of Liberty at the age of 81.

Adeline will be deeply missed by so many in the community. She left her mark on the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hostetter; grandchildren, Cindy, Tami, Jason, Ryan, Missy, Loni, Chad; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Brooks; sons, Ron and Greg.Memorials may be given to the family in her name for a donation to Vintage Hills at a later date.
